Engagement Project

The Engagement Project is an opportunity for students to benefit from working with experienced tutors to increase motivation and begin to firm up ideas about the types of careers they may wish to follow. It is run one day a week on a Tuesday at Hannakins Farm Community Centre in Billericay. All transport from and to Brentwood is provided.

The project consists of 15 sessions:
Session 1 - Introductory session
Session 2 - Group dynamics and team building
Session 3 - Communication
Session 4 - Careers and aspirations
Session 5 - Preparing for work
Session 6 - Attitude and behaviour
Session 7 - Influencing others and negotiation
Session 8 - Problem solving and decision making
Session 9 - Managing risk and accepting responsibility
Session 10 - Can-do attitude and showing commitment
Session 11 - Being open minded
Session 12 - Adapting to change
Session 13 - Research and gathering evidence
Session 14 - CV writing
Session 15 - Evaluation session

Each student will compile a portfolio of evidence throughout the course to include personal profiles, skills passport, session evidence, a completed curriculum vitae and session evaluations highlighting learning and skills usage.
